Removing power steering pump

Quick question anyone if I remove the power steering pump on my 88 AE92 4dr w/4A-F and drive without it would I have to worry about damaging anything? I keep getting people saying I could mess something up.

You mean set the pump aside? Probably would make it harder to steer than a manual steering system since you have to push all that hydraulic fluid through the system everytime you steer?

I mean just take out "all" the power steering parts. Honestly I've been steering the car without the car on since I'm working on it and it really doesn't feel that hard to steer I was just wondering if I can just take it out without damaging anything do you know?

try driving with the belt off to see if you like that, if you loop the lines its a little easyier then that. honestly it gets old driving without a pump imo, parking is a pain. i guess im just to much a wuss now. i took my powersteering off on my old ae92, i ended up using an aftermarket brake resorvior, with fluid so it wont seize up. i've herd the redline honda guys use it without, but i couldnt afford to take the chance the rack could seize up. the steering felt better then a manual rack and almost close to having powersteering, but not quite.

now days i perfer having PS, for the autocross events where theres quick transitions.
