Stolen

mopars&corollas...

20th and Arapahoe, That is a few miles from the noodle shop shooting Today on Federal....

My point-of-view:
It seem that your car wasn't targeted, it seem more random or a quick steal! The CRAPPY part...I guaranteed the STUPID COPS knows who DID IT? But, will not push for arrest due to lack of evidences!

Just go to Target or Wal-Mart and get those cheap USB, IPod, Flash, CD-player deck for around $70-$80 bucks

What about insurance? if you had a decent system then they should cover the damage and get you a new system.

You never mentioned it, but what Head unit did you have?

Some insurance won't cover NEW stereo or after-market parts. And your insurance will probably black tape you as high risk.....

Yeah, I dont think insurance will be worth it. I had a $200 Pioneer Premier deck and just got the dash pieces (black vents from an S- all they had and a wire harness) for $65, not too bad. My GF mom has been in insurance a long time and has advised against a claim. My deductible is like $300 so a couple hundred isnt worth the black mark. Finding 9th gens in junkyard=HARD

What year is the car? (I see it's 9th gen, 03-08, but yeah) Does it have the 4 or 6 speaker system?

The metra wiring harness into the OEM radio is probably your ticket.
Part number is 71-1761

Just buy that harness, splice it in, buy a new factory radio on eBay, and pocket the insurance money.

ive been thinking of an alarm for a 85 GT-S that im trying to get the title for, and ive been thinking of putting an alarm into it just incase some (yes im a little racist) mexican decides that he needs a new system...

but im sorry for your loss and hope you can work something out

Well one thing u have to noe my friend...an alarm is usually always a good thing...it always will most likely scare them away and most likely only the window will be broken or pulled out...on that idea with the window that takes forever to break...good idea and bad idea...well not really bad but ppl can still break in through certain methods...looking at your door in the pix it looks like u dont have a one piece door frame...wat i mean is that the black slab piece on the left side of wat used to be your window can be pryed off, flat head slowly prying out the top of the window untill enough of the top window is out ppl will just pull the window outward with force stick their hands in the remainding space between the open window and ur door and unlock the car and snatch wat ever they so please...but that unbreakable window thing will make it easyer for the jackers knowing that some has a slight fear of it breaking on them then blood trail left behind...so the good thing about that window would be not having to replace it everytime your car gets broken into...damn...im srry to see that happen to u thoe man...same shyt in my Ae92 when i first got it n the first thing i wanted was a system...but my mistake too for not taking the face off...sigh...but anyone if u want more tips just ask mabe i can answer some things for u...

Minor tips ppl...of course take the face off any of your decks...but even thoe ppl take their faces off some have bass systems and if you leave wires showing coming from your deck area big possibility your car will definatly be a target...so hide wires as much as posible...and for thoes who like to put the amps under your seats...dont...screw them in the back of your rear seats...its the best thing you got...dont be cheap cuz you could not afford the longer RCA wires that reach back into the trunk area...ppl think that cuz you bolt things down(nostly cheap screw downs) that your system will not be stolen...but...its always a good thing...the more harder u make it the more loger it takes to steal something....but if you can with the amp...screw it to the back of your rear seat in the trunk i dont think ppl will climb in the trunk to try and pry the thing off now...well long tip short...just dont show anything that makes your car a target...Final Gear said a relatives car got broken into parked right nex to a lex and jaguar i believe but its wats inside really...its usually the aftermarket things ppl look for...just remember...hide hide hide ppl...

Gen5

i agree with ae92Xtruen0Xsr5 because alot of thiefs try to go for cars that have slighly been modded and take a peek inside to see if there are any goodies.. and they usually think that most older vehicles dont have an alarm that it is an easy bust. most the time they are right.

i wanted to kill my friend because he put a 1500 system into a 1981 accord and the only protection he had on it was the door locking mechanism.. -_-
needless to say, it was stolen within a few days.. luckly he got it back because someone he knew found it at a yard sale and the reciept was still stapled to the inside of the box.

but if your gonna put a fairly descent system in a car whether it be a nice deck or a full blown system, remember that someone wants to steal it.

but like i said, sorry for your loss and hope you can work something out.
