road holding for lateral force is 0.82 for both, no idea why motor trend said 0.85g when everywhere else saids 0.82
The other websites are only quoting the Car and Driver numbers. Only Car and Driver and Motor Trend ever did performance testing on the XRS. All other reviews were about impressions.
If you read closely, the Car and Drive 0.82g numbers are on a brand new unbroken in XRS. The test was also conducted on a mountain and windy conditions (hence the slow acceleration numbers).
Motor Trend testing was in a comparo where they actually tested the XRS around on their real race track. Therefore, the Motor Trend numbers make a lot more sense.
p.s. XRS stock came with only 195/55/16 Michelin Primacy tires, which were so-so, at best. That is why I threw them out.

aite cool, but i remember the civic hatch came out with the hfp package with upgraded suspension parts like the shocks, springs, upgraded wheels and tires along with some bracing that i've test driven. any experience or input with that model?

Nope, but I am sure it probably handles extremely well with all the upgraded gizmos.

I know this is supposed to be a non-auto forum but I have a simple corolla question and the other threads seemed to be hardcore model specific.
I just bought my fiance a 2006 Corolla S and I want to get her some snow tires. I found a person selling 205/65/R15 blizzaks, and the manf. tire sizes are 195/65/R15. I think the few mm difference should not effect the car and should fit fine, what do you guys think? Any help or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you knew then why did you post in this thread in the first place. Post a new thread in the right section maybe then you'll get a response. If you don't know which section to post in, post in the general section.

Hmmm..please keep it on topic. Make a separate thread in the 9th gen section for your questions. Thanks.
p.s. Just a hint. The tires for sale will be A LOT taller than the stock Corolla S you got there. For speedo accuracy, fuel economy and gear ratios, don't buy them.
