Geely cars look like Corollas?

Geely Vision

Does this Chinese-developed car look and feel like a gen 9 Corolla to you?

These guys power most of their cars with 1.3-1.6L engines, 1.8 is already their largest.

Oh for any Chinese here that have seen The Drive of Life (which itself is a dramatized retelling of Geely's history), this is the car that eventually gets developed near the end of the series and brought to the US.

In real life Vision was launched in 2006 and Geely will not reach US until 2009 for not able to meet US crash standards.

A few of their other models sure remind me of gen 7 Corollas (down to the engine that looks like (and has its roots from) Toyota A engine, including "Freedom Cruiser" that did pass US crash tests.

OK, now fire away.

The front does resemble a 9th gen, the back doesn't though.. it looks more like a Suzuki Aerio or even a Chevy Aveo (newer model).

I hope they don't pass crash testing, they would flood the market with cheap cars.
