Talking Washington cops and tire lights...

Do not mix. I bought some of those 4-buck valve stem motion-activated flasher things, drove home from Walmart with the family in tow, and promptly got pulled over less than a mile from home. (There were about 7 other cop cars on that same stretch, they must've been doing an enforcement sweep.) Got read the riot act about not having blue or red lights permissible on a car, etc etc--although anybody mistaking a Corolla for a Gumball Vic based on wheel lights is rock-stupid and deserves to panic for nothing--and let off, thanks to a rookie cop, a seatbelt infraction in the back seat (DAMMIT, stupid roommate) and the lack of distance to the apartment. I think it was when I offered to get out and take them off immediately that my good luck was made. (That and if he'd ticketed me, I would have politely inquired if he'd seen the hordes of other cars speeding past during his stop of me, seen all the various cars with the blue washer nozzle lights, and possibly not approached on the driver's side on a highway interchange road...).

All's well that ends well, and the roomie got a ticket citing her for operating the motor vehicle, so it's wrong and obviously invalid. Hah.

Aw c'mon, guys, with all the upgrade research I've done for TN (including those Ebay leather seat covers on the way and a gas damper hood conversion) you're getting up on me about a 5-mile 5-dollar temp-o-mod?

he shoulda given you a ticket for excess rice. Oh and never use the "but I've seen so many other cars with these" - line, you'll just piss them off. Its one of those like: "I was in a hurry officer", "I didnt see the sign" :P
