Autogauge tachometer not showing right rpm

I installed an autogauge tachometer into my 1992 toyota trueno 4afe. I hooked up the power wire to the cigy lighter fuse and the white one to the gauges fuse. The tacho and backlight work but the guage is not showing the correct rpm. When i start the car it sits on about 200rpm when my factory one shows 1000rpm. i have hooked the green wire to numerous places including the blue wire on the dizzy and at the diagnostics box and also i took out my guage cluster and hooked it upto the wire with feeds into the guage cluster itself but still it does not show correct rpm. Any one have ANY ideas at all?? could it be not enough volts to the guage? I am very lost at this point. Help needed lol

Cheers

Remove the back cover and check for a switch(s) that adjusts the tack output to the number of engine cylinders.

If red, white, green and black wires; try red 12+, white dash lights, black ground, green negative ignition coil terminal.

I had the same problem with this brand in a non-Toyota, I never did figure out what the issue was.
