lightest corolla?

I'm just wondering if anyone know what bodystyle corolla between the 5th and 6th generations are the lightest. And which one is a good platform to modify to be competitive in autocross, track day driving against simliar era hondas.

I'd say maybe an AE86 GTS (85-87) or an AE82 FX16 GTS

Any one of those are fine.

Just buy a base model car, gut the interior and sound deadening and anything else you can do without.

Being competitive is always about the driver, not necessarily the car.

5th and 6th gen are about the same weight if I recall. Thought here both were around 2300 lbs for the sr5 and sedans. I used to want to get the jdm bumpers as they are lighter with the lack of the rebars under them (the japanese cars are around 300 lbs lighter). But after being rear ended and hitting a deer.. I still have a car! So I have opted against ever getting rid of the bumpers on it. I am not sure on the weight of the corolla hatch backs, I don't even think I have ever seen one in person.

7th Gen base model 4 door(ae102) is the lightest Corolla produced since ae86/ae82, it could well be lighter than the older corollas as well but I'm not sure since they are pretty tiny. I could be wrong but all corollas are going to be close in weight.
