Why corollas?

Why do those of us who mod our corollas mod our corollas? I just kind of started one day after I got my tint done. I got a few things done and realized that it wasn't worth the money in the long run. It's kind of like polishing a turd except not that extreme. More like putting sprinkles on a bran muffin. If we wanted a car with more horsepower, there are plenty of other options with more stock horsepower. They look good, but there are certainly other cars out there with better looks.

I mean, even dropping 3k and getting a supercharger only puts it at around 165 or so right?

So why?

People enjoy it, its a hobby.
Personal tastes, they want the car to their likes.

Why does anyone mod any car? because there's always a car that's faster, better, nicer than most cars.

It's sorta like asking, why doesnt everybody get base model cars, it gets you from point A to point B.

Too many variables..

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just don't get it.

Not cost efficient. After spending about 8 grand on a new transmission, engine, axles, a supercharger, and other random things, you can get about as much horsepower as a stock wrx.

But each to their own...

Why not?

It's not always about horsepower, looks and speed in a straight line. Sometimes it's about balanced
drivability, handling prowress and braking safely. Others, it's about having a banging sound system and the craziest ICE they can get their hands on.

Not everyone has access to an unlimited budget or the same goals when it comes to modifying a car. I eventually hope to save up enough to upgrade to a nicer car one day, but for now this is what I drive. And I do some small things to personalize it to set it apart from the crowd

There's no shame in driving a Corolla. The upside is I gain more hands-on experience of how to work on cars every time I tinker with it. I've always had an interest in automotive engineering and this is my way of fulfilling it and expanding my pool of knowledge.

Once a car enthusiast, always a car enthusiast, regardless of what you drive.

Why do people mod anything? I have a cavalier that I'm modding. It;s a '92 RS with black plastic bumpers, a rusty muffler, and I think a few interior leaks. It's horribly ugly, poorly built, and insanely common. But maybe that's what makes a good car to mod. If it were a perfect car, why would I mod it?

My corolla, on the other hand, is a great car, but it needs a few things to make it everything I would want. Wheels, an intake, and exhuast and it'd be perfect for me.

I wonder the same thing about people who put big blocks in pick-ups when the engine would go way faster in a car, but who cares its all about doing what you want to your car and having fun while doing it, Thats why people mod corollas to ask a question like that you must be a honda guy.
