Saloon intake filter in any gen 7,8 cars?

I drive a lot and on freeway during traffic hours i always smell exhaust from trucks, buses and other cars even when i got windows closed.

Need to know if there is driver and passengers compartment air intake filter in corolla gen 7,8 and if it really helps with this problem?

Or is there air recirculation mode setting for ventilation where it only rotates air inside car not taking it from outside?

The 7th gen does not have a cabin filter. (Not sure about the 8th)

Yes they both have recirculation settings, i didnt know any cars dont have it.

In this picture, the recirculation lever is the upper left one

Both the 7th and 8th gens don't have cabin air filters.

The 9th gen (2003 onwards) was the first Corolla to have them.
