metal scraping noise when turning

i am an owner of a 1995 manual toyota corolla. i don't know much about cars so this is probably my best bet at finding the solution to my problem.

about a week ago my car started to make a metal scraping noise whenever i was making a 90 degree right turn. When i let go of the steering wheel to even out, my car will drift slightly to the right. The only way to even out the car again is to make a 90 degree left turn, where i will here a slight scrape and my car will alighn itself correctly again.

Alternatively, when i make a 90 degree left turn, my car will drift to the left and i have to repeat the procedure above to even it out again.

What is causing this metal scraping/popping noise, which i believe is coming from the front right wheel of my car? I don't even have to be driving for the noise to come out. I can have the car in idle and turn the wheel all the way to the right and hear the same grinding noise.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
