2GR-FE engine requires 87 octane, if you put 91 octane you could get 272 hp, thats what happens on the Lxus ES350, using the same comp ratio as 07 CAMRY
I have put premium only once and it was V-power to clean the engine, only Shell and Chevron do this.

A modified version of this engine
2GR-FSE has a diferent comp ratio of 11.8 instead of 10.8, therefore requires Premium, on top of that ha a diferent injection system. if you use Regular on this you will get knoking

if you put rtegular on ES350 all you get is less performance, wich is the same as 07 CAMRY but it is not required for Camry (mostly for marketing)

the tradeoff analysis of selling Camry with premium and 272hp Vs regular and 268 hp will indicate that the 268hp is enough and makes it a seller...
