They are lucky to pull 16 mpg on the highway (downhill with a strong tailwind).
People, dont believe the mileage ratings the EPA gives. Its been proven time and time again that EPA estimated rating does not reflect real-world driving conditions.

It all depends on how you drive...it's as simple as that.
Just because the EPA standards are based on moderate driving rather than punching the gas like most Americans do, that doesn't change the fact that the Sequoia is rated lower in MPG than the Tahoe, with less horsepower and less torque to boot. No matter how you spin it, using examples like your neighbor down the street or whoever you talked to in the grocery checkout line, the EPA is the OFFICIAL goverment test, using the same standards for all automakers. Sorry, but government testing rules out whatever John Doe, kitty-corner from your house claims.
