Slower? That's putting it mildly. Since the fall of Saddam, it's been a
downright messy quagmire, with more & more deaths on both sides (incl. Iraqi
politicians, police, & civilians), & insurgencies galore. I don't think
there was ever a plan - or alternative plans - made for the
probable/possible ensuing scenarios (after "mission accomplished").
