The second paragraph proves the general was speaking nonsense, or, more
likely, was forced to speak it by his political bosses, because NASCAR
had nothing to offer the missile defense program, except souvenir hats.
The general was obviously forced to make that statement as part of a
White House effort to gain political support for missile defense from
NASCAR fans, but I doubt the fans are stupid enough to fall for it.
