First of all, the car needs to be warmed up. When I first start out, it is next to impossible to go electric. After I have driven a few blocks, then I can do it.

It also is easier to do, when the A/C is off. It doesn't have to be off, it just is easier with it off.

Generally, I will accelerate up to 40 or 45 mph, and then take my foot off the accelerator. As the car slows down below 40 mph, it will go into electric mode.

At that time, I will lightly press on the accelerator.

If the road is flat, it will stay in EV mode. My record is a little over a mile.

When the battery gets depleted, you can accelerate back to 40, coast to get regeneration and continue some more.

Hope this helps.

The best way is to actually glide which means NO arrow to or from the battery. This way, you're not using battery power, your engine is off and you're not slowing down as much due to the "drag" in the PSD and it trying to recharge the battery. You'll go longer before having to speed up again because you don't have that drag.

Once you've gotten a hang of gliding, you can try and master P&G or Pulse & Glide. This is NOT to be done when there's traffic around you cause the constant change in speed will piss people off. Msg me if you want to know more.
