I actually like having a car that is boring. It just always starts and
always takes me to work and back. No excitement involving tow trucks
or auto mechanics.

I don't even really care what the outside of the car looks like. My
philosophy is that, when I'm actually using the car, I can't see an
awful lot of the outside. So if I buy a car based on looks, I'm really
buying it for other people to look at.

"Exciting" cars may also be more exciting to car thieves or more
noticed by the police.

One of my friends used to soup up cars. He even owned a speed shop at
the time. His cars were always very fast and had fancy paint jobs.

They were so exciting that he had to keep tuning up the engines and he
had to park them way out in the boonies so that he wouldn't get people
opening their doors into the middle of his expensive mural on the side
of the car.

They were so exciting that they were ruling his life.

Now he drives a minivan. :-)
