If you are refering to the filters mentioned above, they are OEM. When you see a car with seperate tweets in a OEM system a filter or external amp (with crossovers) is used. If you don't have a OEM amp, then there are probably filters. In most cases they are only on the tweeters. That doesn't mean that low pass filters couldn't be used on the mid or 6x9. If you had the stereo professionaly installed, then have them look into it. If you remove the stereo, they could try to void there installation warranty. Meaning you would have to send the HU out to the manufacturer opposed to going through them.
