well if i were u i would just refill the transmission! and check where the leak is! and how do u know all the tranny fluid came out? in my opinion i would just do an oiul change and a use a stop leak on the tranny if that dont solve the problem then u will know for sure that it is not caused byt a leak! but in my opinion its normal that its not wanting to shift due to oil not being there but you could at least try before assuming that ur tranny is broke!

EDIT: BY refill i mean make an oil change with the filter and the tranny oil pan gasket and all should give u a good start!
