It's not common, but it happens. If you shut the ignition off, and move the
steering wheel, it will lock the ignition switch. You can usually hear it
click as it locks. Most drivers don't move the steering wheel after they
shut the car off, so the ignition never locks. These ignition locks have
been in cars and trucks for years.
