I don't think that most of the individuals were questioning the contract. It was more the question of how legaly binding the contract may be. By law, any car purchase is not permanant for 24 hours from the date of purchase. That means that either side has the option to opt out. Any money down will be lost, but the buyer or seller can get out of the deal. A preorder will be different, but I am sure that there are things the buyer must be aware of. I do feel your pain for the experience. I fully agree that you should be vocal about it to us, the dealer, and Toyota Corporate. I just don't see where legal actions would be validated without seeing your first agreement. It should also be known that toyota corporate is not responsible for the actions of the dealers. They should be informed (so that they might pressure them) but the dealor purchased and sold the car. Not toyota. I am in the process of deciding what to do with my current dealor as well. I have had nothing but dissapointment for the past four months. My previous dealor (after moving) is nearly 45 miles farther than the current one. In the end, I am sure that I will simply bite the extra miles and go to where I am appreciated and treated fairly. But in the mean time, maybe we should create a post for dealers. Give a brief list of our experiences and if we would recommend them.
