I keep searching and trying different things. I found in another thread some joystick based Nav that has a different sequence to get to the Service / Override screen and they say it works with the version 6.1 maps, but since it uses the joystick it does not apply to the touchscreen. I also found that Coastaletech.com makes wire harnesses to bypass the speed sensor wire (so the nav doesn't sense the car is moving. This sounds like it would work to me, but their site it confusing in terms of what cables allow what features and I cannot tell if they have a cable that allows navigation while in motion for the Sienna. I called my dealer's service department and they said if you have a problem that requires getting to the service screen they need to call Toyota technical assistance (something only dealers can do) and get instructions on how to get to that screen. They also said that there are no customer level functions on that screen, there would be no reason to go there. You would think paying nearly $40,000 for a minivan would get you dealers who were willing to help you do whatever you can to make the vehicle more enjoyable. I don't understand how Toyota is able to control this information so well. If service guys need to know it how do they keep them from leaking the information. The thing I really don't understand is how a company like Toyota who is so sensitive to quanity of customer care and is so good at creating luxury products based on what the consumer wants can be so stupid on this Navigation issue. Clearly customers want to allow their passenger to use the navigation system while the car is in motion. Other manufactureres allow it, All the aftermarket units allow it. Using phone features via the touchscreen may be dangerous, but not as dangerous as fumbling with your handset which are what they are forcing us to do if we are so intent on using the phone. I just use the voice commands for the phone, but it is a struggle to learn how to make the most of this system when I cannot play with it while I am the passenger on various trips. They only time I can get better with it is while at stoplights or while idling in my driveway. Toyota really missed the boat on this one. I find it unbelieveablely frustrating.

My only hope is that someone in one of these forums will have found a way into the service / override screen for the 6.1 version. Otherwise the commercials for TomTom look pretty good. At least we won't have to pull over to set a new destination when on a family trip. How many people buy minivans who never have any passengers. If we didn't have to haul kids around I would be driving a two seater.
