“Typically the DVD mapping database is updated once a year, usually in the fall. It’s not mandatory to upgrade, but in some areas new cities, streets, and addresses are added every year. See your Toyota dealer for complete details.
To determine what version map is currently installed in your Toyota press the menu button, then press the map DVD button. A screen will be displayed that indicates the version being utilized by your Toyota. Please note that the DVD map information contained in your Toyota is finalized before a vehicle production starts for a model year. This means the map version indicator indicated on the screen will not correspond to the model year of your Toyota. This DVD map database is updated yearly. Check with your dealer for the availability of the latest update. “
