All-new Corolla soon?

Earlier this week, my dad went to a Toyota Team Member meetings about upcoming events. They said they'll be working a lot of overtime! They expect there to be a HUGE demand, he said there were little in depth details just all they know now is that there will be an all new design for the Corolla sometime in 2012, he says he sees tiny clues of what the new Corolla will feature every once in a while! Hopefully it looks good! I can't wait!

The Corolla has always been on a 5 year cycle. The last generation lasted 6 years.

So the new model will probably be released sometime next year unless Toyota feels their current product can't compete in sales and decide to junk it.

Judging from the current market, Toyota surely has their work cut out for them as they are behind in nearly every aspect. These past 4 years other car makers have really stuffed in a lot of features !!

Yup Yup! Hyundai and Kia definitely have alot of features.

If you look at the new Kia Rio sx, it has plenty of standard equipment.

-LED Power Fold Mirrors
-LED Tails
-Dual Exhaust
-Intermittent wipers
-17" Alloys
-The list goes on...

Those are nice things... Toyota definitely has to step it up for the next Gen Corolla.

What the Corolla has going for it over offerings from other companies is reliability. I should know, I traded out my brand new 2012 Focus for a Corolla because the new Focus is a giant POS.

I wouldn't fret too much over this. The folks that run Toyota are by no means a bunch of lackwits. They see what's going on in the segment and with gas prices on the rise cars like the Corolla will just become even more in demand. I suspect they are going to update the Corolla so that it remains dominant in its class.

I think it's next year. There's a new company opening here in London, Ontario called Arvin Sango, which will supply exhaust systems to the Toyota plant nearby in Cambridge, Ontario. It will not open until next year and said they will be in full production by the fall of the 2013, so I think the new generation Corolla will be a 2014. I'm predicting the new Corolla will be a total homerun. All the complaints about the new Civic interior, plus the additions of the Elantra, Focus, Cruze will make Toyota wakeup and really offer something decent in the new Corolla.

As long as they hit these i'm sure it will win over a lot...

- Rear independent suspension
- Soft Touch interior (not hard plastics that rattle and chirp)
- Projector Halogen Headlights
- Power Folding Mirrors
- Rear Camera on XRS/LE/XLE what ever they will call the top trim
- Paddle Shifters on upper trim levels
- HID Option on Top Trim Levels
- Driver oriented cock-pit, Hyundai and Kia mastered this.
- More Aggressive exterior styling, not a slight evolution, revolution to shape, Think about Mazda's recent change, Hyundai's and Kia's... and even Ford's Focus and the Lancer from a few years ago.

back up sensors on higher trims
optitron gauges
4 wheel disc brakes
maybe direct injection and turbo option
5-6 speed manual and auto options

And dear God Toyota if you decide to use a dual clutch automatic then whatever you do don't go to Ford for any technical advice. That dual clutch in the Focus is the sinlge worst automotive design in the last fifty years. Completely ruins that car.
