Don't know if this was posted yet already, but saw a video of that Matrix from TK.com

Quality isn't that good though, just thought I'd share

Hence the reason I love a manual.

Spotted, found him on another forum at a meet.

His car is looking pretty good. Since he has the 1.8, it has to be the base model Matrix, yes?

From the looks of it, looks like he did a rear brake disc conv., maybe something you guys could look into if you guys are really interested.

I'm happy to have changed to manual 6 months ago, and I love it tremendously even though I'm not as good as I want to be... yet (hopefully, wishful thinking). My parents and siblings, however, keep complaining that it's inconvenient for city driving. I don't mind getting stuck in traffic; it actually helps me to stay awake (and a wake up boost if I stall in traffic) so why not just leave it as is and let me enjoy my ride?

My eldest sister moved back with us from Vancouver and said "MT cars are higher maintenance than AT, so you should get rid of it when you have the choice." Then my other sister kept forcing me to visit the dealership for "engine repair" because I stalled the car a few time at first. I was so frustrated after a while I told her to mind her own business. If she wants an "engine repair", I told her to get herself a driver's license, buy herself a car, face it downhill, put the car in neutral, get out of the car, and release the brakes.

Ah the joys of the car illiterate!

Heres a vid of mine, as of yesterday. Stock exhaust is on now.

Waiting for some couplers to show up in the mail, and I will be able to complete the setup.

I find it a bit too low...
Just a suggestion...you might want to look at another thread recently about adding the underhood short shifter and the brass bushings. You will find the actual shifting to be 100% easier after these minor upgrades, especially in traffic. You no longer will have to hunt to find the different gears.

I did look in short shifter with brass bushings. I also contacted TRD Sparks in regards of their TRD Quickshifter that's compatible with Corolla XRS 2009 but they said they don't know if it's compatible with my 2012 (I think Dimaoala said it's fine). Before going through with this mod, I was thinking about going through my first Winter to see if I really like manual in snowy and slippery roads. In addition, I've scheduled an appointment with the dealership to look into the shifter and/or transmission. I've had some minor concerns over it when reving to 3000RPM in 1st gear. I've opened a thread here: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/32...ter-issue.html

^^^^

There shouldn't be any problem at all using the TRD quickshifter in your 2012 Xrs, I don't see why not. Most of the changes from the 10thGen to 10.5Gen is cosmetic and a few other here and there.
