Canada 2009 Corolla LE in Canada

I'm from Toronto and looking at getting a 2009 Corolla LE (with the smart key and push button ignition starter). I'm looking at the moonroof package and a couple of dealer installed options. I'm looking at the bluetooth feature and the iPod connector that lets you control your iPod through the factory stereo.

Does anyone know where the wire to connect the iPod is located to and does anyone know where the bluetooth controls are located in the car (i.e. is it on the steering wheel or elsewhere)?

Also, does anyone know if the moonroof has a tilt function?

Any comments on these issues or just general comments on your experiences with the Corolla LE would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell ya that the moonroof can be tilted, as well as sliding open.

The moonroof is also one-touch (first time in a Corolla!)

The iPod cable is probably hooked to the back of the radio. You can have it come out of anywhere - glovebox, centre console (more work) or where tha cubby hole is below the A/C controls. I think the BT controls are on a separate unit that gets mounted somewhere in the car (Haven't seen any photos of mounting locations).

We had a 2000 Corolla LE and I've test driven a 2003 Corolla LE (my 09 Corolla tester was an "S" model). The LEs have always impressed me with their features and attention to detail (on the 00, it was the fabric-covered centre console box lid, illuminated ignition keyhole and nicer fabric. On the 03, it was the wood trim, chrome accents, opt. leather [which was good quality for the price]).

This year, Toyota has outdone themselves. The ride should be nice and quiet (same wheel/tyre spec as the "S" model I tested plus it has the same acoustic windshield). The 4-spd shifts quite smoothly actually even near the redline (and within break-in period... oye).

I don't know what else you want to know. The rest can be answered by the owners I guess =)

Thanks for the response. Do you know how the iPod interface actually works? Does it let you search by artist or by playlist on the factory in dash stereo similar to the menu on the iPod?

Any details would be greatly appreciated.

^^^Dunno how it is in the Corolla but in my Scion what you said is right. However, I really do wish they have a "click wheel". The knob feels like it might break off. I guess it'll never happen since Apple has a patent on that.

I wish someone would make a car stereo where you dock your ipod in the head unit and use the clickwheel directly like this:

but on a car unit. Then they wouldn't infringe on any patents.

Ya that would be sweet. I think I have seen something similar in some concept cars. I think it was for the iPhone specifically though, but I can't recall what car(s) it was in.

bleh.. Ipods are so overrated.

I prefer a Creative or a Sandisk player over the Ipods.. only one I think I like is the I-phone and the Ipod touch.
