My Damaged Corolla!

Okay, guys! I just discovered this the other day...

Anybody know any remedies for the scratches around the keyhole? What about for the ripped leather? Should I cover it with tape? What kind of tape?

I have no idea how this happened... I was so careful! I think I got it like this from the dealer... but I already had the car for 1.5 months now... I only noticed it now. I was so careful! Maybe I have a split personality.

The steering wheel looks like it was damaged by a ring or maybe a watch. Could've been a key as well. Hard to say. Not real way of patching something like that up unless you replace it. If its really bugging you, there's always the option of getting a steering wheel cover though I don't recommend it since they look horrible and aren't always safe.

As for the ignition scratches, definitely keys or the keychain. Its bound to happen. Hard to fix unless you know what you're doing, one simple solution is to go out and get liquid silicon film. One particular brand is called "Slippery Stuff." I'd be more than glad to help you out if you swung by the dealership. But I think we're in the wrong Cities

Thanks for the answer, sir!

I may be in the wrong city.

I was thinking of just taping the steering in some way... just so it wont get worse. it's on the underside part anyway. I just thought maybe someone has a good suggestion on what tape is best... something that is kinda the same color and sticks well.

I would see if your dealer will fix/replace the steering wheel under warranty.

I was like that when I got by car. I'd notice every ding and blow my top. You just gotta get used to it. The only way to never damage your car is to not use it and keep it in a museum.

That doesn't mean I become careless. When I go to the mall, I park farthest away from the crowd to avoid door dings.

I'm careful with the interior the most. Over the years the paint is bound to fade and get nicks... can't avoid those. However you can avoid stains and tears on your interior that's why I'm a Nazi when it comes to people bringing food in my car.

Big rock chip on my hood already and I don't have 1,000 miles on it yet. Stuff happens. Can't drive around in a protective bubble.

But the problem is you're destroying your own ship! haha.

I have those key marks around the ignition too. They skimped out and didn't make the ignition surround "metal" like the 9thgen. They also didn't make the key-hold light up, which would have prevented a lot of misses

Tractor beams to push other vehicles away, shields to protect the paint job. Phasers cannot be fired when you have your shields up--I think

Yes. You're right. Phasers can't be fired when shields are up. And after all that, we can steal Mercedes' cloaking device.

But I think traveling at Warp factor 1 and above would be very bad for our tires.

You know what they say... YOU ARE YOUR OWN WORST ENEMY.

Yes... that is kinda weird that they didn't put a light around the keyhole like cars nowadays usually have. But either way, I don't really look at the keyhole when I put it in. Haha! Now I do. Damn scratches.

No one has answered my question yet... any advice on what kind of tape to put on my torn steering wheel so it won't get any worse?
