My Corolla S, when I accelerate the engine sound does;nt seem to be quiet. I don't know if all acceleration is all like that but when I accelerate, I step down to 2000rpm and let go of the pedal and step down again to let the transmission change gear. When you guys accelerate, how hard do you step down, I mean the rpm

Let's get the obvious one out of the way: The clock position. Why oh why did they have to put that thing inside the cluster. Super annoying.

The EPS is also too overwhelming. I'd like to be able to at least feel the steering wheel, but its way too soft. Makes the driving pretty boring, and I always have to correct the steering even when driving straight.

Way too many options to "select" from. Yes, its nice that they let you upgrade this and that with packages, but I just felt like I was getting nickel and dimed for everything. (this is just a pricing thing, but I still think the Corolla is a great value)

The oil filter is a cartridge style instead of the old spin-on filters. Gotta buy a special wrench and its a bit messier.

The acceleration is also a bit lacking when driving up hills. Gotta push it to D3, otherwise the car just sluggishly goes up the hill.

These are pretty minor things I think, but overall the Corolla is still a great car, and I don't regret it one bit There are definitely more positives to this car than negatives.

The Corolla Is very weak in going up hills. I feel that the old generation corolla acceleration is better than this gen despite few horsepowers more.

I don't have a problem with the get-up and go because I bought the car for the fact that it is very good on gas and is super reliable. If you want to jump off the line like a jack rabbit all the time then your going to kill your gas mileage. The EPS takes some getting use to but I do like it in a tight steering situation - like a very congested parking lot. I wish the stock headlights were brighter and I am not a fan of the bridgestone turenza's on the car. I am looking at swapping them for a set of michelin or even BFG...anyone interested in a set of tires with less than 1k on them?

Less body roll would be nice...hoping something from TRD will help out with that.

That's true. A lot of people complain about the engine being weak... it's a 1.8L Corolla... what do they expect? Speed is no longer important in this age... it's how to save money on gas and save the air that we breathe.

DEATH TO SUVs!!!

I drove a 2008 Honda civic other day, I really like the acceleration compared to corolla. How can Civic Accelerate much better with less sound which is fuel efficient as corolla. Corolla's engine sound are pretty loud during acceleration.

Dislikes:
1. Clock placement. It sucks. It should at least be in the radio, or center of the dash.
2. Outside Temp display. Same as above, should be in center of dash.
3. Not quite sure about the steering, but will have an answer in 2 weeks as we'll be going on an 1100 mile trip.
4. There's an engine/exhaust noise/vibration at 2800rpm just before it upshifts to next higher gear. (1.8L & 4speed auto)

ADDED 6/5
5. No VARIABLE intermittent WSW, just one preset speed. Seems odd, since the car has HEATED mirrors. "S" model

-No aftermarket parts really, and slow forums (mostly complaining)

Likes:
