I ordered an 09 Corolla S, Manual, JBL 8 Speakers, All Weather Guard.
I ordered this car 2 months ago today. When I originally ordered the car my sales rep said he didn't know when I would get the car and gave me an estimate of 6-12 weeks. He said it will be hard to find it because of a few factors. Manual these days seem to be a special order which drives me nuts. Also I am not getting a sunroof because the headroom is smaller and I am tall and not comfortable with having so little headroom. He kept pushing me away from manual, but I didnt budge. It's just more fun to drive manual. And he used lines like "oh well if your getting manual for th better gas milage it dosnt make a difference anymore" Typical sales stuff, I finally had to be stern and say its my preference and this is what i drive , end of story. Anyway after I called and left a message. I received no response. I called a week later and said hey did you get my message. And he was like..yea im pretty sure I did..(I wanted to say wel why didnt u call back you ****, its just good business edicate. So he says oh we just got new allocations this weekend I will check and get back to you. Still no call.
My question is am I the only one going through this? How long did it take to deliver your car? I guess it has to do with region but I mean come on.
I really dont like my sales guy either. come 10 weeks and im giving hell. If I get nothing. well I know civics in manual are much more common.
I am a sales rep . for a dealership BC canada. You guys in the states are actually the lucky ones there is HUGE shortage of corollas amd matrix but ALL of the stock goes to the states first. We are having to put people on like a 4-5 month waiting list if we dont have them in stock. Lucally we are a pretty big dealer and have a couple. But its a VERY ruff time going on right now
i see ur from new york....which dealer u went to? i went to bay ridge toyota and got the same treatment but i only had to wait like 3 weeks although they told me the car was gonna be there within 7 business days
I didnt get the sunroof either and the sales rep kept trying to push it on me, i got pissed off and let him and his manager have it then he never ever mentioned it again

A shortage you say? This is interesting. Is it only in Canada or for North America in general? And is it because they're selling too fast or because they're too slow in production?
well because they gave everyone a HUGE shipment up front hoping that they would tie us down until we could get more and then all of sudden EVERYONE wanted one EXPECIALLY the S models ... and BAM noone has anymore lol so a bit of both we sell to many and they arnt making them fast enough.. i know ALL of canada is REALLY bad right now... the states might be a bit better cause like i said they are going to be getting them before we do .. so basically with almost everyone we are having to take orders and send it directly to factory and by the time they get built and brought to its dealer its about 3-4 months.

That's going to be a sight. Soon instead of seeing Corollas everywhere, we'll be seeing Corollas in body kits everywhere
How about the XRS's? Since I got one too, I'm wondering how they're selling compared to all the lower trims?
they actually arnt selling lol because of gas prices everyone is to scared to get the 2.4 .. BUT that actually a good thing so it means our cars are going to hold there value better because the used market wont be flodded with them.

Hey wonderboy which dealership do you work at? Last time I went to Toyota to take a look, they told me XRS will be a minimum 3 month wait, and chances of getting a manual is really low.

I special ordered my '99 LE 5 speed manual Corolla with ABS, and it took 3 months. Well worth the wait.

Dragon 877,
I went to Riverhead Toyota after going to every Long Island TOyota dealership, and yea they really pushed the sunroof thing on me also and you just have be stern with them and say NO. Thats awesome that you got yours in 3 weeks. I wish !
lol it wasnt awesome cause my 94 camry was broken into so i had no radio and a broken small window so driving around for 3 weeks in that was a pain in the ass, specially in february when it was so damn cold lol
the freakin sales guy kept pushing the moonroof on me nonstop, so i stopped him and asked him "I'm the customer am i not?", the moment he said yes i ripped him a new butt hole lol i stood up and told him as a customer im not interested in what he has in stock im interested in what i want, and if he cant provide it im sure honda would love to take my requests....after that it was all my choices hahahhah
