Low Beam Performance

Compared to 9th gen Corolla, is the current generation have a better low beam performance than the older model? I notice the current generation using square housing rather than round one in the past. I am comparing between a 9th gen CE to 10 gen CE , ( no fog light, standard bulbs,,no PIAA , No HID .. aftermarket..crap..) low beam performance straight out from the factory.

I am interested on the low beam performance during wet pouring rain conditions while driving at 2 lane hwy without any street light.

Hey,

They light up fine with the stock headlights during the rain. BUT it's usually a personal preferral vision is what you can see or cannot see outside.

9th gen corolla headlights are horrible! I sure hope that the 10th gen is better, but from Edmunds review, it does not seem that way.

Are you talking about a real road test, or the owner reviews? If the owner reviews, I'd pretty much ignore anything contained therein and go do your own test drive.

Nope...actual review: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=124046

What Works:
Interior packaging and presentation; satellite navigation; enormous trunk with 60/40 split-fold rear seat; fuel economy.
What Needs Work:
Electric-assist power steering; tire noise; barely adequate headlamp illumination.
Bottom Line:
Toyota offers more standard equipment and unexpected amenities but little driving pleasure in its all-new Corolla world car.

Check the latest issue of Consumer Reports in regards to the Corolla's headlight performance. They were rated as good. I popped in a set of Silverstar Ultras and I pretty happy.
