What car wash materials does everyone use?

Just wondering what y'all use to clean/wax your cars?

I want to pamper my new 'baby'. Not much of a car wash person b/f so wondering?

what's the best soap, wax, tire protctant, dash & plastic protectant out there?

Dont want to sound sexist but most posters seem like guys & guys love their cars (Obviously I'm a woman )

Thanks for your opinions

Hi-

I use just plain auto-soap, and I might change it out for

fresh,at least once..I start from the top of the roof and down..Next,

I Finish up with, the wheels and door sills..For drying, I use a soft towel,

drying the windows first. and I proceed, with the same towel,

to the rest of the car (As a moist towel is less abrasive). I finish

with a carnuba wax (it's not abrasive), and tire dressing..In my experience,

plastic interior conditioners (over time) degrade the surface of the dash, and

interior plastic. I don't use them.

Detailing Write-ups & How-to Videos

Long reads, but very informative.

[Edit] A bit of personal advice for the interior part. The best thing you can do for the inside of your car, is to cover everything. Seat covers, steering wheel cover, dash mat, and maybe tint the windows too. A lot of people are going to disagree and comment on how ugly those are going to look, but in terms of protection there's no comparison.

i use regular products you can pick up at Canadian Tire (or your US equal). Sheeps Wool wash mit, Shammy to dry. no fancy products... then i use a damp towel to wipe the dust off the interior

I just do a section at a time. driver rear quarter, pass rear quarter, front driver quarter, pass front quarter etc.... that way no water marks...

Thanks

Hi-

I just use a brand called "Mothers".. Turtle Wax also has a carnuba wax.

It's just a softer, smoother, higher quality wax. And, yes - I just

apply to a small area, let dry to a haze, and rub off. Hope that helps.

I use Meguiar's Gold Class wash to wash. Great soap with lots of rich lather.
for wax, I have been using Meguiar's NXT wax, no complaints.

I recently purchased a set of micro-fibre drying towels, micro fibre buffing towels, large micro-fibre wash pad and micro fibre applicators from Adams Polishs (TN sponsor) I must say that these towels are fantastic, I would recommend everyone to get some. See the Detailing Thread.

I also use 303 areospace protectant inside for plastics and leather.
