Moonroof rattle

I've been experiencing a rattle in my corolla, and I think it's

coming from my moonroof..Anyone have a similar problem?

It doesn't happen everytime I drive - about 1/3 of the time, though.

I have the same exact issue. Mine seems to do it when the ambient temp outside is a little cool.

NNOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo......!!!

I hated that noise from the Gen9 XRS and it's tin-pie plate sunroof cover. Grrrr... Better not happen.
Take it in to the dealer.

I've had a couple other rattles, but none from the moonroof (cross my fingers).

The moonroof rattle seems to be caused by the sliding cover "Fabric/plastic" shade. When it is slid back so you can let the sun in it bounces around sometimes tapping the roof of the car. At least that is my guess. I had my buddy sit in the back seat to try and isolate a rattle and he figured thats all it is.

But it only does it when the Glass is Closed and the Shade is open. It doesn't rattle when both are open... or both are closed.

At least in experience

The rattle could also be from the wiring for the sunroof, it probably lays on top of the headliner.

Yup,

Same thing here.

Bought the car in July and didn't hear any rattle from the moonroof, but now that is getting much cooler here in Michigan I've noticed the slight rattle up there.

This never happened during the summer heat, so the temp theory seems to hold some water.

Not overly annoying, nothing that cranking the stereo can't fix but at least its good to know that its "normal" with the '09 Corollas.

I now have a rattle as well. Just started to hear it this past week. I guess the cold weather does something..

Has anyone taken their car to the dealer to have this fixed?
