I just bought my XRS, it has less than 600 miles on it. I plan to at least get past the break in period before i start doing any serious performance mods on it. I do have a few universal mods on the way tho as far as styling; tints, interior LED ambiance, 18" rims, HID fog lights, brake caliper paint etc

The mods will come as I get money for them.

As far as performance mods in the future, I don't really think of my car as a performance vehicle, more like a "luxury-compact" slash mini-Camry. If I do any upgrades though, I will probably be looking at intakes first. I don't want to do anything to force me to start using premium fuel, or to greatly reduce MPG, such as a turbo/super charger.

For an a-b commuter, my XRS already has more than enough power for me any way, especially for passing assholes on the high way who drive real slow in the passing lane, then flip you off when you pass them on the right. TORQUE BABY

I already use premium fuel and have since day 1... its only a couple dollars more in total from empty and you get a cleaner & smoother running engine, and who knows maybe a tad more HP...

those couple dollars add up to a lot over the life time of your car, your car is designed to run fine on 87, besides higher octane doesnt always mean u get more power, although i do agree with running cleaner on premium...but im too broke to get it all the time specially being in NY where premium is $4.59 USD a gallon lol

That's awesome.

Here is my first mod:

I should have it installed by late October! I hear it adds 10 hp.

Seriously though, we drive Corollas. I love the sportyness of my car...but there's no point in trying to get more out of it. I bought it because it's a 4 door, has enough power, and I can get a lot of kms out of a tank of gas...plus it looks awesome.

It would be cool to get more power out of it. But in all honesty, you will probably have trouble finding some mods because it is a Corolla. I have emailed a few companies about items such as a lower grille, and even an intake and they responded with either "no plans to develop" or "it will be discussed and could be a while" comments.

I am leaving mine completely stock. It looks and works great. I won't be trying to race anyone in my sporty "family sedan" If you want a Corolla with Kick, why not just get the XRS and leave it stock?

My Corolla is what it is...and that's why I bought it.

as for me, i would be changing all interior and exterior parts that are present in asian and european 09 corolla. the north american 09 corolla specially the one that is being sold here in Vancouver Canada lacks so much in "classy" parts. if you are wondering what these parts are, you can take a look at the new corolla on any european or asian toyota web site.

as for the wheels and tires i would definitely buy a 235/35/19 or 235/30/20 all-chrome-big-lips wheels and a nitto invo tire. i am still thinking about lowering the corolla but i know that it does look good to have it lowered by about 2.5 inches to 3.5 inches.

i would also like to have the cold air intake on my 09 corolla but the parts for this kind of modification is still unavailable.

for the tint, i would be shopping around for good tinting shops that can do mirror tint that was made years ago on the Lexus RX300.

Biggest size tires depends on how wide the rim is, and what the offset on the rim is to see before it starts rubbing in the Rolla wheelbase.

For mods, lighting, ice, tires are easy to-do
I myself put HIDs in the fogs/low beam, upgrading the stock speakers, tint, BCC, and am looking for a drop in K&N filter

(Anyone hear about a K&N drop in yet? for 1.8)

Ha! Cheap american gas... last time I fueled up it was 1.449 a liter for premium, so $5.48 for a US gallon
