good and loud automotive horn

has anyone ever noticed the kind of horn that toyota used in the 09 corolla? it sounds like a toddler toy when you accidentally stepped on one.

any good recommendation? i dont like the kind of horns with trumpet-like shapes. just the round ones will do but it just got to be loud with a good tone. the early civics and accords have good and loud sounding horns. the newest lancer model has a very good and loud horn.

i really dont know why toyota canada misses so much attention to sound details. maybe they are deaf? just kidding.

Do a search in this forum. It's been talked about already and there's lots of options. IMHO, all "foreign" manufacturer cars have pathetic horns. It could be that in other parts of the world, the horn is used for different purposes (and used often). So no need for a truck horn that blows you out of the way.

And it's not Toyota Canada's fault. It's Toyota Motor Corp. who ultimately engineers them.

Im putting hella horns on the car...

BUT

I recently looked at the car and noticed that you need to take off the whole bumper to put the horn on. Also you would need to take the bumper off to install a grill. Am i just going crazy or is this actually true? Is thee an easier way?

How would you be able to install anything without getting a ratchet in between the grill/bumper and the radiator support? There just isnt enough room to untighten and tighten the bolt that holds the horn...or anything else behind the front end. Thus I think you would need to take off the bumper to do anything.

Why not just leave the old horn in there where it is, and just put your after-market horn somewhere else. then all you have to worry about is cutting the wires from the old horn and running them to the new horn.
