Exclamation XRS Delivery checklist

Ok, so I have waited three and a half weeks for my manual Black Sand Pearl 2009 Corolla XRS to come
(some kind of truckers strike delayed it I have been told)
and it will be here TOMORROW! I am boiling with anticipation and excitment as you can imagine, and I can wait to crank up that JBL and roll off the lot.
I feel like I am getting a second girlfriend and I finally get to meet her for the first time, I can't even sleep!

My question, however, is this;

What are the key things I should immediately check before accepting delivery?

Any thing you guys noticed when you first bought your 'rolla, that you would have wished you checked for while you were still at the dealer(or maybe you DID check it there)

I plan on being really thorough, I am even planning to bring a flash light and a note pad with me (and whatever else I may need, though I can’t imagine what)

One thing I am going to look for first is whether or not the door sills are bubbled up.
I'll be looking for stuff like that, that the dealer has to fix. I want to make sure the car is PRESTINE when I drive it away.

Thanks a million people.

-Check your dash, steering column, basically the entire interior for scratches!!!!

-Check all panel fits to irregular gaps

-Dont worry about the rear bumper skirt (It was put on in two pieces so the seem is normal)

-Rims for dings & scratches

-spoiler fitting

-make sure all extra features you added are installed

-check your windows & their seals (test your power windows and moonroof)

just be anal and you should catch everything if there is anything to catch

I also PM'ed GatoradeBoy but since there is a thread here, I'll copy/paste the stuff I suggested, mostly stuff I got from this forum over the last few months:

- Stitching of the steering wheel (look behind and around, someone found imperfect stitches that came off after a few weeks)

- The underside and connection points of the body kit (potential paint problems)

- The housing around where the ignition key goes in (people found excessive scarring and at least one person got it replaced by the dealer)

- The headrests, especially check from behind (someone's friend noticed bad stitching the driver never saw, not sitting in the back seat )

I am supposed to be getting my XRS sometime this week as well, and I too, will be anal; flashlight in hand, in, out, under, all over the car and if they think they will just hand me the keys and I'll drive away, they have another think coming their way, heh heh...

Well I agree with you, go over the entire car before driving off,but how do you know what is an irregular gap? Do you have the fit specs? I should warn you that changing even one fit you risk many problems. Such as wind noise, cracked paint, exposing parts of the car that don't get the top coat of paint, headlight fit, closeing force of luggage etc,and much more. I can assure you your cars fit has been examined at the plant.
