Corolla CE to LE switch?

I initially bought a corolla 2009 CE (or what they call today as a standard corolla) in blue metallic streak in color, and later on I found out that I didn't want it anymore because of a lot of circumstances. It mostly reminded me of the worst buying experience I ever had). The dealership felt a bit guilty about it because it they had a share of fault in my decision regarding buying it. I wasn't intending to buy on that day yet, they got me into a lot of pressure that caused me to end up just buying it with a little dos of their lies. Now they are contacting me regarding my satisfaction to the experience and frankly told them what I felt.

They took consideration in this and offered me a few things. They offered me some free accessories (possibly a rear spoiler and body side moldings) and a free tinting and a free round of gas and car wash with the car I purchased, or they are willing to swap another car with me from switching my blue CE to a silver LE with a price closest to the CE that I have. With a 359 dollars difference between the two cars I'm kinda confused about the options that I have right now. Should I switch to the LE?or should I take advantage of the freebies that I will get with the CE that I have? please guys any help from you will be appreciated! here are the specs between them...

2009 Corolla CE (or standard) 4 spd auto trans
With Extra mile option package A
vip sales follow-up
Vehicle shield package (heck! I got duped by this!)

free
tints
rear spoiler
body side moldings (i think it's ugly with this on though!)

paid with sticker price (they dont want anything lower with the s-price)
$17, 598+TTL

or
2009 Corolla LE Auto
50 State Emissions $0Cruise Control
Color-Keyed Outside Rear View Mirror
Carpet Mat Set
Remote Keyless Entry W/Key Transmitter
Power Windows With Driver`s Side
  • One-Touch Down And Shift Activated Power Door Locks
Xm Satellite Radio
  • Includes:
  • 6 Months Complimentary Xm Service
Sticker price is $18,508, but the manager would be willing to discount it at $17,957.

I know this deal kinda sucks from the ones everyone did, but as for now this is the option that I can only choose from. My decision will be due tomorrow noon I think. i hope to hear your advice, suggestions, opinions soon! Thanks in advance! Sorry for the long post...first time user with eagerness to hear!

My thinking on this would be to take the LE. You get so much more minus the body side molding. And that can always be added on later.

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing you points! Yeah I know the silver LE is packaged good at a discounted price although the price seems still high, but i really like the color Blue..Sheesh i hope thers a blue version of that one in my dealer. Actually if they had been in touch with me earlier they had a blue LE, but it was sold that fast! *snaps* maybe thats the reason why they wouldn't give discount for the blue corolla that i initially bought from them. Any more opinions? I need them desperately before tomorrow comes...

If you can live with the colour (me, I like both blue and silver, although am more particular to blue) I'd say go for the LE. The XM radio is a good addition, even if you decide not to use it--it will probably increase your resale value as well. The power package is neat too, I especially like the whole shifter activation bit. The "add-ons" they are throwing in for the CE are not too much to write home about, and if you are so inclined, can be added later on by buying the parts and getting them installed elsewhere (BSM, spoiler etc) without paying an arm and a leg for dealer inflated labour costs.

just my $.02 Canadian Good luck!

2009 Corolla CE? I think you live in TX, and from what I know, the CE model is only sold in Canada.

Regardless, I would take the LE. In California, they have a no cooling off period. So basically, caveat emptor, buyer beware. The dealer is doing you a favor in your instance, so if it gets you out of your predicament, take it.

I think we do carry CE models here, but only in very limited numbers. It is not called CE anymore in the 2009 model, but just plain corolla 2009. Its the model that has no power doors or windows right? Because that was the one that I got previously. In auto tranny though, but the dealer I have also carry a manual tranny for this class. My dealer has 3 in stock and one dealer here that I was looking into before has 1 in stock.

I am fully aware that there is no cooling off period. I think the reason why the dealer can still do the offer is because our contract papers haven't been processed yet due to the holiday craze (that's what he said). Another is because they were getting a negative feedback from our buying experience from them and they are just trying to make us happy because like everyone who buys from them, to have repeat customers. It makes me wonder though, is the offer a good bite or a bait to lure us into something I do not know?

I am the same with you! I like both colors but I am particular with the blue. I have always loved blue, but this color really catches my eye and it looks so good with a corolla!it makes me a bit difficult to let go of the blue one although it has lesser features. Hehe..

I wish you had asked that to me before you bought the car...I can tell you what dealership to go to...I went to the Gulf freeway Toyota on 45 near Galveston...it was worth the trip...they took off 2000 dollars and after signing papers I saw a scratch on it...I decided to swap cars

Maybe in the mid-90s, but how often do you hear about power windows and door locks breaking on todays cars?

Well, except for VW products ...
