I have a 2009 Corolla LE. After it rains, even if it's very lightly and not for very long, I'll have beads of water on my car. You know like big water spots sitting there. EVERY other car in my parking lot is dry!!
I noticed this one day when I went outside and it didn't even look like it rained, every car was dry but mine. I thought someone poured something on my car.
So, today I'm driving to work and I seen another car just like mine, but in blue. Same thing. Everyone around us is dry and we're the only two that are wet.
My Girlfriend has a 2008 Pontiac Vibe and it doesn't do this.

Is this okay/normal?
I am having the same occuerence as what you had just this morning! I have a corolla standard and one morning before I noticed that the top of the car has beads of water in it. i think because it was a humid morning. This morning however when I came to pick up my mom I notice my car is so wet like somebody washed it! I was so furious because I am the only person allowed to wash my car! Now i think nobody did it but the car itself, or i do not know. I purchased my car with the scamistic vehicle shield package. Do you think it happened because of that sealant they put on with that?

it means your paint cant hold the water my best advice is to get a giant umbrella and stick it above the car
So then it's okay. LOL don't laugh. I've never had a new car. All the cars I've owned were given to me and older and the only waxing I've ever done was at drive through car washes. First car I've ever had that does this.

It's all because Toyota's are so COOL that they even bead water when other car's cant. Just like a Cool drink on a hot summer day. Refreshing, huh?
Really though, mind did it too. I bought mine right off the truck after it came from Japan. I had the "J" VIN. No worries. Drive and Enjoy.
Its fine. The new paint/wax beads water and you can see it. Other cars are either dirty or don't have a good coat of wax. The water sticks on the body of the car making it look like its dry but its not.
i think he meant by that is the car was newly shipped to the dealership and just got down from the truck..about that "j" vin..uhh i dont know.. is that any different fro our vin here?

VIN that starts with J are vehicles built in Japan.

Vins that start with J are from Japan
Vins that start with 1, 4 and 5 are from USA
Vins that start with 2 are from Canada
Vins that start with 3 are from Mexico
I think that covers all the Toyotas sold in North America. For Corollas, if it starts with 1 it is made at NUMMI in California, if it starts with 2 it is made at TMMC in Canada, if it starts with a J it is made by TMC in Japan.
