Hey guys I think you are aware that there's some corolla 2009 that are installed with crank windows are there...What can you say about it..is it ok for a 2009 cars like the toyota corolla to have crank windows or should toyota have power windows as standard just like what honda did?hope to hear your opinions soon!
They still put that on cars? Damn, I havent cranked a window up in a car since 1983 when I owned a 78 grandprix.
it's one of the most striking points that i considered when i was deciding to switch the standard corolla with an LE though i hate giving up the color of my standard 09 rolla.. the blue LE that they were gonna offer was sold minutes before they gave me the chance to switch..so i was left with a silver..if it was blue LE I did switch it right away.. that's why it made me harder to decide..
damn, my shoulder blades ached reaching to open the back of my car with the standard rolla with no power locks too!tell me about their most basic trim! i loved that baby for its color though..
You know, I do like the car for what I paid for it. But I have to tell ya, I do miss leather seats and a better ride. I truly believe if I get some better tires like Mich, it will be better, I hope. Did I mention I hate these Firestone Aff tires? yeah, I did.

i don't know how this is related to the topic..anyway..why'd ya hate the aff tires??does it bust more quicker than Michelins?
Well, first off I have had a vibration problem with at least 1 of these tires being "out of round" according to discount tire. The Firestones are OEM by the way. Second they are so damn hard riding. I have tried to keep them under the 30 lbs of air that is recommended but my mpg starts to slip.
I just don't like the way these tires ride. I believe the Mich are a far superior tire. I also like the Yokahoma tires, well see what Im going to do. I am just having a hard time paying for new tires right now, but I really am getting tired of the vibration problems.
Because I bought new rims from Discount tire, they rotate and balance my tires free now. They even Road forced balanced my tires. The one Firestone they had to use 2 strips of weights to get it to balance out.
Give the option. Power windows are a good option esp. for airing the car (for heat in the summer.. what were you thinking? ) but there are people who would gladly take manual crank windows. It saves weight and the new ones are oh so smooth, unlike the old crank windows plus they'll work as fast as your arms will let you. Power window rotors do slow down over time.

The only legitimate reason to have manual windows is to save the customer a hundred dollars or so. Weight savings is so negligible that your lunch will make more of a difference.
Power. It is about time Toyota (and all other major manufacturers) stopped treating this car class as "cheapo econobox" in North America (you'd be hard pressed to find a crank window in non-NA Corollas.) I had power windows on my run-of-the mill 1991 Fiat Uno (for those who don't know the car, think 13" rims that deform every time you hit a medium sized pothole and an interior space that makes the Yaris look like a Lincoln Towncar) and it wasn't because it was a luxury sedan. I was not even happy with power windows not being an option on my '99 'rolla, and in 2008, it is idiotic not to put the damn thing in all cars, at the very least for the front two windows... let the poor kids/passengers deal with the crank in the back if you want to

I thought that Generation of Corolla had an option FOR Power Windows unless you're talking specifically about the trim.
Power is way more superior but this is what they should do imo.
Offer a CE/Standard with Power Windows and Door Locks at its current price BUT also offer a bare bones package with Manual Windows and Door Locks which will reduce the price of the vehicle about $1000. Gradually it will phase out the Bare Bones Package and offer the Standard at just a bit over what it weould of costed with a bare bones package.

Let me rephrase/clarify that--the 99 CEs did not have the option, and 99 LEs did not have manual transmission; I'd have gotten an LE with manual transmission if it was offered and had the option for the power package, but it wasn't even a dealer installed opt. for the CE. (Canada--US CE's might have had the option, I dunno)

I live in Canada but i think that Power Windows were avalible on the CE in the US.
I am happy with my crank windows on my base model. Roll solo most of the time and my stereo is for me to hear and not everybody around me, so they stay up. My bike is my primary transport.
