Did anyone factory order their Corolla? If so how many miles/km's on delivery?
I factory ordered my CE and it had 16km on delivery. I felt that was too much considering the PDI started at 8km and ended on 11km. Even accounting for gas fillup, there was too many. I mentioned it to the dealer and surprise, they just danced around the issue. That's one of the reasons I want to fill out a survey and report this to Toyota.

Wow, when my bf test drove it on Thursday night, there was 0 miles on it. When we signed the paperwork and picked it up on Friday night, there was 1 mile (from his test drive). As soon as it came in, it went next door to their "sold" lot, so nobody could test drive it, and flying doors wouldn't ding it up.
Did you pick it up as SOON as it came in? Did the dealer let some people test drive it first?
(edit - I'm not in Japan, I'm in Alaska. I accidently clicked on the little Japan flag when I clicked into the window and didn't un-click it)

Well, I think you have a point. I ordered mine on June 30th--they were anxious to do a deal because it sounded like they had one on the way; the car was built on July 2nd, and shipped to Ottawa on Jul 7th. When I got it, it had 3 kms on it, part of which was the drive from the lot (where I had originally sneaked in to steal a look) to their service bay where they washed etc the car prior to getting it [I saw it being washed in there, when I came earlier than my appointment]
Maybe instead of direct from factory they did a dealer trade and got it from another dealer in town? That's all I can think of to account for the extra mileage.
Good luck with Toyota Customer Service!
[Edit: I fat fingered the mileage, it had only 3 kms on it, and you can see the picture of the odometer in the Corolla pictures thread]

Mine had like 5km when I went to get it. But add a few more to that number since they had to go and fix a paint chip and then refill the gas. I know it came from the factory since I waited 3 months for it and have been bugging them about it the whole time.
mine had 10 mi on the odo when i picked it up....technically it was delivered through a dealer, but as a courtesy delivery (considered a j-unit, not for retail sale). I guess the techs that PDI'd my car had a little fun doing the road test.

so you got a japanese built one? cool... My bill of sale has this annoying note, only for sale in canada, not for export--egad, what if I decide to move to the US, I can't take my car with me? I think NOT!

Hey guys since we are talking about ordered rolla's can I ask if CE and LE trims could also be ordered? or they only accept orders for more expensive trims such as the XLEs or XRS or S trims? How long does it take to receive the order too?

Nah, mine was built at NUMMI. J-Unit means a vehicle not for retail sale when they arrive at the dealer lot (usually a fleet purchase, which the dealer preps as a courtesy for the manufacturer).
My car was delivered to the dealer as a courtesy for Toyota, so it technically does not count toward the dealer stock or as a retail sale.
How else are they supposed to know if there are problems with it before you get it. The car usually comes from the factory to the dealer with about 3-10km on it, and a PDI should mean about 10 more, add to that going to fill up with gas, moving it, cleaning it, etc.
There is absolutely no reason to complain about it.

Isn't it more simple to put a SOLD sign in the car to deter people or salesmen to take that specific vehicle out for a drive?
Our local Toyota dealership does that and moves the car somewhere else on the lot closer to the building.
We bought our Sienna used but we had the Owners Supplement which has the original Delivery paper and it said 9 KM when the original owner took delivery of the vehicle.
Expect some distance driven when you take delivery of the vehicle, that means they've tested your vehicle [dealer or factory] and have ensured that the vehicle is built at Toyota's standards.
For the people with very few [1-2 KM/miles], the factory usually only takes one of a group out for a test on their testing grounds to ensure that they are good.
