That being said, I'm paying $20 a month more than I was for my 07 CX-7 (255 hp Turbocharged) with a MV of 19,800 when I sold it... I'm baffled at why this little car costs MORE than the expensive stupid quick SUV?

all brand new cars cost a little more than older models especially if you did not pay the car in full. imagine damaging a door in a collision or any part of the vehicle. the parts would have to be ordered from the factory considering that there are still no surplus parts in junkyards. compared to a 1990 honda accord door that you can get for $50 per door in a junkyard. i hope it makes sense.
Yes, it makes sense if you're talking a 90 accord. But when your trading in a car which is still less than 2 years old (and was an increase bc it was a new car in the first place) and never had a price drop, it just seems like insurance companies decide each year model that prices go up, and never fall back down... also parts on a car made 95% in Japan were still harder to find than new rolla parts should be? furthermore, if your logic is true, should I expect my insurance rate to drop once the parts for the 09 are more readily available?

also all this is obviously going to depend on how much coverage you are buying?
i.e. a $500 deductable costs more than a 2k deductable, gap insurance, etc... so its going to be hard to get an apples to apples comparison. you can try somehting like progressive.com and see what your rates look like there?
