Canada Question for Winter Climate Folks

Any concerns regarding short ram intakes or Cold Air Intakes with Winter weather??? Will they frost up and cause problems, or should there be no issues?

On my old Matrix, I opted to put in a SRI instead of a CAI because of possible water issue (e.g., driving thru. puddles during winter time). Once water gets into the engine, the consequence will be severe.

Performance gain between the two is minimal (correct me if I'm wrong). Plus, adding just a SRI/CAI won't give you much performance increase unless you start doing other mods too (e.g., header, exhaust system).

Just be aware that car modding can be very addictive!

So SRI would be the best option then. My old 323 when i bought it it came with a SRI already installed on it, but i also got it second hand from a guy in vancouver. I know the climate in Vancouver isn't as snowy has here in Ontario, so I wasn't sure. So I wasn't sure if a CAI would be a better choice for here or not. Anyone else? So far i'm leaning towards a SRI

Vancouver is known for raining a lot in the Winter, almost rains everyday so he probably picked a SRI. If you are careful, the CAI shouldn't give you much problems, but if you are like me and like flying through puddles, don't get a CAI.
