got mines done at Unique tinting near Mcowan/nugget. There are 3 different tint options ranging from $99 to 250. I got the second best one, which is all you need. Cost me 140.

You can buy some the "tinted Film" through ebay and they are pre-cut. It going to cost you less than $40

one of my pet peeve is people calling tint "tints" lol

i would also stay away from those pre-cut do it yourself tint kits...it's just going to make the car look ghetto after a while. those kits usually aren't really high quality tint. just get it done professionally...if you need suggestions you can probably check out www.tintdude.com and check out their subforums...there's info on which shop is good and stuff.

How long until the typical window tint turns purple-ish? Are there any grades or types that do not do this after time?

well, the op is from toronto so that doesn't apply.

my suggestions is to check out some places.... audio heaven is quite popular and has good customer service, i think they're having a special during importfest weekend.

it depends, but in terms of a quality tint job, you get what you pay for. imo, i wouldn't pay anything less than $150 and still expect a decent job.

metallic based tint film usually resists color degradation better, but the trade off is that it interferes with your gps navigation signals and weakens am radio reception. get a ceramic based tint that has no metallics, but they tend to be more pricey.
