Does anyones bump forward when coasting?

When u take your foot off the gas and coast to a light around 40 km/h, it feels like someone bumped you from behind and then coasts to a normal stop? My neighbour's does this too and I've heard of other cars doing it, something with fuel delivery shutoff or something like that. I haven't heard of anyone complaining about it too much on here. Does it annoy anyone?

It's called the DFCO " Deceleration Fuel Cutoff" When you coast, it cuts the gas, to save on fuel.

I don't like it. I drive my 2006 Corolla and my mom's 2009 Corolla, and I notice her DFCO kick in right away the moment I coast. At 40 km/h fuel is once more sent to the motor, so it coasts normally at that speed and below.

I just don't like the feel of it. It's as if I have to coast much closer to the stop sign than with my car, which means im pressing on the gas longer than with my car. Since I have to do this, im using more gas than with my car.

Yeah, I've noticed it as well...I don't like it either to be honest...but have learned to live with it and when to ease off the gas.

I guess that with a manual transmission, you wouldn't feel this, if you pressed on the clutch rather than coast in gear.

I have noticed it as well, I was goin to complain to the dealer when i took it in for a service this week but apparently its normal.

When accelerating i get a kick/bump also, is this also an effect of it?

It even does it when you're breaking for a light and you get to around 40km/hr it will start to coast heavier and you have to brake more than you were before it bumped again. never had a car do this before.
