Wierd goo oozing out around gas tank filler neck

I am going to take it up to the dealer as soon as possible but I was going to try and see if anyone else has seen this. I caught it yesterday when going to fill the gas tank. The car has 2500miles and this is the first time Ive noticed the goo. It is clear, almost looks like a silicon caulk, but it isnt that thick. Its coming out from behind the black rubber grommet that surronds the filler neck. Any one know what this is?

It could be lubricant used during assembly or rust-inhibitor.

My vote goes to the lubricant.

Thanks for the input, lubricant sounds and looks the case. I cleaned it up and I think it will be fine. Hopefully it was just an excess and not something that was supposed to stay in place...
