Dipstick smells like gasoline

Monitoring the oil thing with the TSB, I noticed my dipstick smells like gasoline, but when i scrape some oil off of it, it doesn't really smell like anything. Had this issue on an older car years ago and if was very very serious. Anyone know what this might be?

Trust your nose, gas and oil may be a little more separate on the dipstick allowing you to smell it better compared to when you smear them together with the scrape masking the smell a little more. Take it in and tell them your car seems to be using oil, get the flash upgrade and I would change the oil ASAP and continue to monitor. Fuel dilution is nothing to ignore as it breaks down the oil and hinders the lubrication process.

does anyone know what kind of oil was put in the car in cambridge? I called my dealer and they said don't worry about the gas smell. Nice answer. Has anyone else noticed the dipstick has a varnish like smell to it?
