Rear Headrest Stitching

Anyone else notice that their rear headrests are stitched really poorly?

I brought this issue up to my dealer, and they brought me to other corollas they had in the lot and it was the same thing.

I don't really understand how they can mess up so badly on the back headrests, when they do a perfectly fine job on the front ones, not to mention every other car they make has perfect stitching.

My corolla's made in Canada BTW.

I work in a Seating Factory that makes seats for the Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX, & Ford Flex... The Corolla seats are most likely made by a supplier and those head rests are probably made by a supplier to the seating plant. and the stitching is probably done at the fabric manufacturing warehouse and comes pre-stitched.

The quality issue isn't at Toyota, but is more based towards the seating company. We have a supplier that assembles the head rests, and then they ship it to us ready to be installed.

Tell your dealer to tell Cambridge to tell their supplier to fix the issue, or send you quality head rests.

Long story short... Toyota probably doesn't make the head rests let alone the seats. They just install the pre-assembled seats into the car on the assembly line.

Hmm... I didn't know that..
Are your headrests stitched badly too?

I asked the service department for new headrests, and the guy said it's risky for me to do that, since all the other corollas are the same.

He said if I get my headrests replaced, and Toyota deems that there's no problem with my original ones, I'll be charged for the new ones, which are like $600 each.

to be honest i haven't checked mine. Probably are. Not sure... i have the XRS pattern fabric in my car... but either way, i'm not tooo worried about the back head rests... actually i find them annoying and would prefer no head rests in the back...

no! demand firmly that they must be replaced free of cost because customers have rights and customer satisfaction is just one of those rights.
