SNOW + Corolla + VSC = ?

SNOW + Corolla + ABS + VSC = ?

How does it hold up in the snow / intense rain? It being FWD with VSC, do you guys think it's necessary to get AWD in another vehicle (Rav4, Matrix, etc?)

How would you rate the brakes in those conditions?

I've always relied on public transportation, so I'm rather inexperienced with snow driving.

Cheers to Friday!

I think Jeff L. got his near the end of February and he could share with you more of his experience with snow...I got mine in March but there wasn't much snow after I got my car.

I just ordered a set of winter tire and so I'm looking forward to seeing some snow. As for rain, I've never encountered any issues after I got rid of the stock rubber.

Typically speaking, you'll probably rarely, if ever have VSC kick in. When it does, it starts beeping and is quite annoying.

I don't find AWD necessary too much, especially if you have winter tires, they make a huge difference. The stock tires are not very good though, pretty sucky in the snow IMO.

The brakes feel odd in the snow I find, but again it is most likely due to the fact that the tires get very low grip in the snow. The ABS seemed to kick in very early, not really giving me a chance to react before it kicked in.

Heavy Rain (And i Mean HEAVY) + Stock Corolla XRS Tires/Rims = Hydroplaning from time to time...

VSC kicks in and helps you out sometimes. But it all depends on the conditions & Driver. I have never hydroplaned so bad that i lost control. But enough to wake me up and go "WTF was that".
