Canada Door Lock Settings

try to view the Scion Xd website. there it gives a few video instructions on altering the settings of the door locks. i tried it myself and it worked on the corolla too.

the default with the corolla is when you start the engine and move the shifter from P to D/3, all the doors lock. in the Scion Xd site it gives a video instruction where you can have the door to lock up when the car reaches a certain speed.

what i dont like about the corolla door lock up default setting is when you stop and put the the shifter to P again, all the doors unlock. im kinda paranoid about having the doors unlocked while i am inside the car. so for me the 2nd video instruction is most suitable.

the video says it is both applicable to automatic and manual types of vehicles.

joeylgarcia, you're my HERO !!!!! I've been wondering about that option for the last 2 months ! Thank you so much :P

I have the manual transmission and it works ! As soon as i reach 12mph/20kmh, all 4 doors locks. It's great and safe.

I just turned the ignition to on and then pressed on the lock for 5 seconds and released it and Voilà !!! As simple as that.

Please help, it does not work for me on my Corolla 2009 manual transmission. I followed the instructions on the video and tried several times but still not working! what am I doing wrong?

1- enter the car, close all doors
2- set the parking brake
3- put the stick in neutral
4- turn key to ON
5- within 10 seconds, hold the lock switch on the door for 5 seconds
6- the start the engine, drive the car but the power locks don't engage past the 12 mph speed

do you have a manual transmission? did you follow the exact steps in the video?

for the manual transmission, what was the position of the stick initially before putting it to neutral?

it happened to me that the first time you click on the link, nothing happens. I had to close the browser completely and click again on the link. A self-starting animation pops up and introduces features about the Scion. When it talks about the power windows feature, they mention how to customize the door locks.

post back here about your results after you try it because it did not work for me on my 5-speed transmission

I don't understand why it didn't work Maybe because it was already activated ? Because the video says that if you wish to cancel it you just have to repeat the same sequence again.

Make sure you're not touching any pedals when doing it. Other than that i can't help Sorry Good luck
