Thumbs up $20500 OTD for a "S" model in CA, Good deal?

Sup every1~!

First time posting here, been lurking here for sometime. Anyways, I'm planning to buy a 09' S model with following options:

CF - Carpet Floor Mats & Trunk Mat
EJ - JBL AM/FM/ In-Dash 6 CD Changer
FE - 50 State Emissions
SR - Power Tilt & Slide Moonroof with Sunshade
SX - Sport Package: Includes 16" Alloy

I live in California, bay-area to be exact. The best quote I can get right now is about $20500 otd. Is it a good deal? Can I do better? Any specific things that I have to be aware of when I get into the dealer office? Cuz I'm a first time new car buyer. Oh, I'm gonna put $5000 down and the finance the rest.

Btw, does the S come with traction control/stability control standard? Any input would be helpful. Thank you in advance!

The S package does not come with traction control standard. My S had the EV stereo package (6-disc, not JBL), the bumper protector and the CK (all weather) option -- probably not a common option in CA. MSRP on mine was $19,980. It sounds to me like you could do better. Have you run it through the pricing system on kbb.com?

so cal dealers have been advertising S models at $3000 off msrp if that gives you any indication of price. Also, this would be for the Automatic one right (model #1834?). I'm sure another dealer could match that price without a doubt, so you can definitely go lower.

Actually, many of the Corollas here in So Cal are equipped with that option. My XRS did, and I probably could live without it.

We paid 20K for our S Auto, with 16" dealer installed aftermarket Eneki wheels instead of the toyota ones, and ours dosen't have the moonroof or JBL audio, but did come with a (mandatory) lifetime engine warranty, and tinted windows, so your price sounds good!

Just bought mine 2 weeks ago with the exact options listed w/ 4 cylinder automatic in Southern California. I paid 20,000. I also had the 5000 down payment. So you could probably go lower. Definitely go through the internet car sites first to request a quote if you haven't already. Also watch out on the financing after the price is settled, good to get your credit score beforehand and request a car loan quote from capital one auto loans. So at least you have some bargaining power if they give you an APR that is over the quote you got from capital one.
