BSM Corolla LE 00, car waxing!?!

So I bought my 1st car, a blue streak metallic corolla LE! It's so shiny I heard that I need to keep waxing the car to maintain the glossy blue paint. Is it true? If so, NOW I'm totally lost! First off, when do I have to wax my BSM car, yearly? monthly? Should I do the wax myself? or have a professional do the waxing? If myself, what should I use as the wax (I hope its not too expensive!) or how much would a professional do it? I'm just curious, What would the car look like if it was never waxed?

I usually wax my car when water stops beading on the surface or when I have time to do it. I used to do it once every 3 months or so even though water still beaded. It really depends on the environment.

Wax gives a bit of a wet look, but it's protects the paint also. You can wax yourself or hire someone to do it for you. It's really up to you.
