USA Manual Corolla XRS??!

i been searching for my car recently and i really want a manual transmission for to me it more fun.

I went online to find the TMV reports for manual and submitted it to 4 of the dealers in my area.

EVERYWHERE says their are no manual XRS in a 5 state region... what 5 state region are they looking at?!?

Also every dealer has been trying to sell me an AUTO or a 5 speed LE.

To me that just pisses me off and when i ask to see about ordering one i get ignored?!

im just about ready to buy my car in the next month or 2 and i feel if i going to be making payment and spending the money i might as well get something i like.

Sorry for the rant but is it true that most dealers cant special order cars?!

They can, but...

When a dealer has a 30% (company average) drop in car sales and a lot full of black LE corollas....

Good luck.

Dealers will work with you
it varies by dealers
dont take this as a bad sign on toyota
it all depends on who runs the dealer and how they run it

When I bought mine two months ago, the first dealer I went to wouldn't order me a new one. So I went to another dealer who ordered exactly what I wanted. I had a choice of manual or automatic. I had to wait a month for it to be built. I would call around and see if you can get them to order one. The internal model number for a manual XRS is 1835 where as the automatic is 1836. Give them that when you call. They should be willing to work with you.

Also, are you the same Luispeed from nissanforums? If so, nice to see you again.

Sounds just like when I bought my xrs, dealer trying to push lesser models or autos on me. Once i threatned to drive half way across the country to get a red xrs 5m they managed to find one...

"5 speed LE""

there is no such thing, or i'd be driving one instead of a base model.

I went into the dealer looking at a used 06 s model. It was trashed by the previous owner. The sales man that sold us our Highlander was there and an asked if I would be interested in buying a new corolla. I said I would like to look. As we walked to the new one's, we saw the black xrs, that I bought, with a manual. It had come in friday during the day and I bought it saturday morning. It was on the lot less than 24 hours. When I was working them on the price, he had a xrs production list and said they only made 7 xrs models for our area is Aug.
If you want a good deal don't buy an xrs, they will not come down on the price at the dealer.

If I managed to buy a Camry with a 5M, I don't see why it would be so difficult to buy a Corolla XRS which shares the same engine with a 5M. I know the gearing is a bit different, but given the transmission and engine are also used on Scions, it should not be difficult to accommodate.
